Chinese Opera in Chinese we called it JingJu京剧, it combines music, acrobatic dance,spectacular costumes to tell stories from Chinese history and some folktales.
Most performers begin their training from childhood.They wear extensive make up,their whole faces are painted in bright colors,colorful masks,inspired from ancient ceremonies and religious symbols are done by actors.The color of each character's face is significant as it represents the character's personality and fate.
The main colors in Chinese Opera are white,black,red,yellow,blue. Red means royalty,white means mean,blue means brave,black means honesty,integrity,green and yellow means strong, stubborn,irritable,purple means steady,modest,golden means god and silver means ghost.
